The initial design concept focuses on creating a balance. The balance which neutralizes the stress from hectic military work and inapt family life by maximizing efficiency in the therapy and wellness buffer with appropriate planning and design considerations.  While the final phase of the design concept is an addition to the existing veterans association planning criteria. This step involves understanding the mental and spatial aspects, the aura that a space projects along with the addition of impact of finishes like paints and furniture.

The idea is to use the seaward side as an open and welcoming gesture that soothes the military personnel and helps in assisting the healing process. At the very same moment, the rear facade acts as tough and rigid which shows the might of military and strength. Both these entities simultaneously serve the multi-natured functions of the design as well as the aesthetics. This setup also contributes towards breaking the age old military building typology partially promoting growth and development.

Healing is a process that is unique to each person and must be approached with caution. Only by carefully arranging their surroundings can they develop this sensitivity, and hence architecture plays a crucial role in the healing process. Healing can be familiarized through architecture, as well as spaces and events where healing can take place. The ultimate triumph is combining this with the gift of nature. The way to go is to combine modern healing techniques with a regenerative approach. The purpose of this thesis is to use architecture to bring these approaches to life.
